This is one of the best services offered in Greenfield. Can never see primary physician without an appointment! We have used this clinic numerous times for many different reasons...tick bites, sore throats, eye injuries, allergies, etc. Highly recommend them. Minute Clinic has eliminated a dozen or more ER visits for our family.
Useless clinic. Went today because my daughter has a suspected ear infection. I live 20 minutes away so wanted to call ahead and see if it would be feasible for me to come in to see if there was a line. I could not get a hold of anyone in the minute clinic and then called CVS to ask if there was anyone I could talk to. They said that the minute clinic does not accept calls and will not talk to anyone. I asked them if there was a long line because I did not want to have to drive to 20 minutes and have my child unable to be seen. They said it didn't look busy. Got there at 4:40, and they were closed. The hours say they close at 5:30, but apparently they will close earlier if they fill up with people. There was one other person waiting in line and she said she was the last person. So I took my sick child there for nothing.
Amazing. Quick for kids.
The nurse diagnosed my girlfriend with bronchitis but refused to give her treatment and antibiotics because she said she is a smoker and if she stopped smoking it will go away. She is not a big smoker and instead just received a long lecture about how smoking is bad for you. Was told there was no point in giving her antibiotics because smokes.
I sent my daughter to the Minute Clinic on Sunday with my husband because she was running a low grade fever, had a very sore throat, exhaustion, AND I saw a white patch in her throat. I am a nurse and knew it was strep throat and didn't want to wait another day before she got antibiotics. The NP did a quick strep and it came back negative. She told my husband she could do another swab and send it for a culture but saw no reason to do one. She said if she still felt sick in a few days to call her PCP. I knew it was strep so I called the following morning and was able to have her seen by her PCP. When we got there the nurse did another quick strep with two swabs, one to send for a culture (which is the way it should be done and was not done at CVS). My daughter said "what a difference in how they do it here compared to what she did yesterday". I asked what she meant and she told me "yesterday she just kind of made me gag when she stuck it in quick but here they not only made me gag but wiped it all around the back of my throat". I explained the way it was done today is how it is supposed to be done and sure enough it came back positive for strep. Not only did my daughter have to wait another day to start antibiotics and miss another day of school but it cost me $20 for nothing! I was VERY DISAPPOINTED and will not bring my family to this Minute Clinic again.
