We bought a new system for Christmas. Gene offered excellent advice without pressure. He worked me through some problems I had setting it up and tested my speakers with a receiver similar to the one I bought. I went in expecting to buy new speakers and left with mine. Gene is informative and easy to work with. I had an excellent experience.
I usually am not the type to write negative reviews, I hate being that person that complains. But the experience I had at this place today was ridiculous. My dad had dropped my car off to get a remote starter as a Christmas present. I picked it up after school at around three, payed $380. As I left and started driving realized my blinkers and hazards were not working, as a new driver this was worrisome. I went back and got my blinkers fixed very quickly. Went all the way back home turned off my vehicle to find that the lights on the outside would not turn off. I specifically remember flicking my parking lights on and then off again, this did nothing. I went back, waited for an hour and a half to finally be told "there's nothing wrong with your car, you had the button on your steering wheel flicked on"(I vividly remember turning them off). Then I was told that it took so long because the inside of my car is rusty and they broke a piece that connected to my battery I think? And that I should go to a mechanic in the morning to get it fixed. I was very nice about it despite my frustration. I'm typically very patient in these situations. I was not even given an apology, and nobody even said "have a nice night" as I walked out, which I assumed was basic friendly customer service. So now I'm going to have to pay EXTRA money to get something fixed that I didn't break. Will not be doing business here again. If you need a car starter, you'll have better luck just driving out of town to get it.
I worked in musical instrument retail in Boston for 27 years. I would preach to newbies two key famous ,but absolutely true points from day one. 1)You only get one chance to make a first impression and ..2)treat people( customers)the way that you want to treated.. always! The Music Store nailed both of the these and the results besides a happy customer in me , was , more importantly, the smile on my wife's face upon receiving the gift of her music back.
My wife and I recently moved to a small town in Western Mass after living many years in the big city trappings of Boston. We have had to find new places for everything! My wife's car stereo speakers , by far her favorite part of her ride, had stopped working and she wasn't able to crank the music and sing happily along during her travels. This was making her .. well .. sad. With our anniversary a few days away I decided to surprise her with new speakers in her car to restablish her traveling singalongs and restore on the road happiness.
I found the Music Store's phone info and gave them a call . I knew that I was being a little last minute but was hopeful.Gene, who I found out later was the owner, was super helpful , answering questions, held some speakers for me , and fit me into a tight schedule for installation on our Anniversary day, 2 days away.Eric installed the speakers in the garage area happily and with expertise while also running the show at the shop. This store is an old school small business,a throwback where it is obvious that customer service is the priority. They've been around for many years so my guess is that this is the culture there and the only way they know how to be.
I came in two times for help with an electrical problem with my car, both times just before closing. Both times the person who helped me went above and beyond to help, staying after closing to do so, and explaining what was going on with my car. Very happy to recommend them.
Brick and mortar stores have taken it on the chin the last bunch of years. Consumers were conditioned to expect very little by way of customer service,so went the route of least resistance , the Internet.I believe though, that there is no replacement for a friendly smile ,confident knowledgeable conversation, reassurance, and the human face to face of an excellent customer experience. Bravo.
About a year ago I had the Music Store install a big stereo system in my car, and had a really great experience at that time. I was pleased with the service and expertise of the guys at the store as they were helpful and informative. The system was working great until about a week ago and as soon as the system stopped working I called them up again. They were able to accommodate my schedule and get me in at a time that was convenient for me to check it out. They were able to establish the problem fairly quickly and were very courteous in figuring out that my amp was still covered under warranty instead of telling me to buy a brand new one. I highly recommend this business to anybody that loves their car stereo system as much as I do! I have had nothing but great experiences with them.
